I thought it was quite nice for all of us East Boston residents who care deeply about our southern neighbors (them Rebs) to come on out and fete them. Has to be the work of Alpheus Blake, or at least his ghost. He was chief promoter of the Boston, Revere Beach & Lynn RR (today's Blue Line) in the 1800s, and also a real estate developer in Hyde Park (e.g. Blake Estates).

They did this the other day too.
The article was about "overcrowded" Brookline elementary schools but the heading said South Boston. Hmmm.
