Old Boston restaurants never die, they just leave their signs behind

New commenting turned off as we begin the Great UHub Migration. Back later today.

Richard Auffrey details the background behind the sign on Hudson Street for the China Pavilion, a restaurant that hasn't been open since 1990.

It is kind of hilarious that the Sahara Syrian restaurant is (presumably) named after the Sahara, a desert on the African continent and not in Syria, and is advertised with an image of a pyramid akin to those in Egypt.

There were also a lot of Armenians involved which is very interesting considering they are and were very much a minority in Syria.

… for cultural appropriation.

Now I know a little more. Thanks.
