Teen charged with shooting man he was trying to rob on Wilbert Road in Dorchester

Boston Police report arresting a 15-year-old on charges he shot a man in the leg on Wilbert Road in the Franklin Hill development in Dorchester around 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 23.

According to police, gang-unit officers found the teen on Tuesday and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

Police say the victim was able to drive away from his attacker; police found him at Blue Hill Avenue and Harvard Street.
