Armand Walker shows us the fresh asphalt at the River Street bridge in Hyde Park's Cleary Square today, reports workers there are optimistic the bridge could be re-opened to traffic next week, which would end the long running nightmare for people trying to get somewhere in or near Cleary Square. Transit Police report arresting the 29-year-old driver of a Toyota they say turned onto the inbound Green Line tracks at Brigham Circle around 3 a.m. and then didn't get very far and remained on scene so that officers could determine enough signs of intoxication to warrant an OUI arrest.
This was a week after another Toyota driver allegedly did the same basic thing on the Green Line at Coolidge Corner.

An eight-year-old suffered a leg injury in an incident on Pershing Road at the Curley School involving a BPS school bus ending up hitting a gate at the lower school around 3 p.m.
Jamaica Plain News reports the injuries were not considered life threatening - and that Curley parents have long complained about how buses park on the sidewalk to await students.

Transit Police report arresting a 27-year-old woman they say drove her Camry inbound on the Green Line tracks at Coolidge Corner around 2:30 a.m., then tried to book it down the tracks at "a high rate of speed," only she didn't get very far before the car went off the rails and officers were able to book her on a charge of OUI.

A man was stabbed in the chest and leg on Cambridge Street near Brighton Avenue and North Beacon Street around 6 p.m. The alleged stabber drove away in a reddish-orange SUV. Read more.

The Dorchester Reporter reports the latest proposal to upgrade the easily flooded road, which would include a new street and intersection just north of the building where the Globe used to be to connect new residential complexes there to the Dorchester waterfront, but not any work on the cranky drawbridge - or other plans for flood-control barriers along Dorchester Bay.

Roving UHub photographer George Lewis captured the scene at the Bowker Overpass today, not long after a truck driver yelled, we imagine, "STORROWED!" on learning why trucks are banned from Storrow Drive in general, but especially the Kenmore loop ramps, because trucks hit them at just the right angle to flip them on their side.

Have plans on Sunday morning that involve going north or south through JP, east or west across JP? That’s great! The Arborway, Jamaicaway and part of the Riverway are closed for the B.A.A. Half Marathon from roughly 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM, with much of Franklin Park’s Circuit Drive shut too. Goofus and Gallant have been here before.
