Boston firefighters responded to 205 Boylston St. in Jamaica Plain for what turned into a three-alarm fire, around 11:10 p.m. on Saturday.
The department reports firefighters found fire on multiple floors in the four-story building - with flames already bursting through the roof.
The Zoning Board of Appeal today rejected plans by the venerable Hatoff's on Washington Street in Jamaica Plain to add more gas pumps, after nearby residents fumed over what they said would be more pollution and noise from motorists filling their tanks with the cheap gas. Read more.

Last week, as part of its "safety surge" program, Boston installed 13 speed bumps on Allandale Street in Jamaica Plain, between the parkway and the entrance to Allandale Farm, which turns out to also be the town line with Brookline. That's 13 speed bumps on roughly a half mile of road. On the plus side, the slower speeds could reduce the odds of serious crashes - and could give your passengers more time to enjoy looking at Curtis and Willard, the farm's two beefy bois.

Unlike the weather, DCR says this time it's really going to do something to make the Arborway safer for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists, possibly in 2027, through a host of improvements that will include changing the giant circle of doom by the Arboretum known as Murray Circle and the smaller ellipsoid of confusion up by Jamaica Pond known as Kelley Circle into large intersections, with traffic lights and turn lanes and "highly visible" crosswalks and pedestrian-crossing signals. An eight-year-old suffered a leg injury in an incident on Pershing Road at the Curley School involving a BPS school bus ending up hitting a gate at the lower school around 3 p.m.
