How long would Joba the Putz last in the National League?

New commenting turned off as we begin the Great UHub Migration. Back later today.

Not very long:

... It's nice to be 5-0 against the Yankees. Yanks fans will make excuses, like A-Rod being out. And that's fair. After all, April and May are A-Rod's best months. ...

Mike Giardi: I'm not to advocate violence, but I’ve about had it with Joba Chamberlain:

... Not only that, but I've about had it with the Red Sox letting him get away with it. The kid had impeccable control last night, yet somehow loses his grip to stick one right between Jason Bay’s shoulder blades? ...

Dan Tobin: Sox now have as many wins against New York as Teixeira has home runs:

... I ain't feeling sorry for you [Chamberlain], not when you act like you deserve Glen Davis's nickname more than he does. We call HIM Big Baby because of his girth and young-looking face. You? You got the girth, but that's not the only reason you'd qualify. ...

Kristen wonders why NESN screwed around with Buck "OR-tiz" Martinez when the Eck is such a wonderful Remy fill-in:

... Now don't get me wrong, I love Remy more than is probably healthy and wish him the speediest of speedy recoveries, but Eckersley is nothing short of a national treasure. The man simply says what he thinks, whatever pops into his head, regardless of appropriateness or tact. It's simply delightful. ...

How about instead of throwing the pitcher out of the game if the umps nail you for throwing at someone after a warning the pitcher that gets tossed has to bat for the DH the entire next game? You lose the bat in the lineup and if it's not the last game in the series I suggest the pitcher wears hockey equipment to the plate when he faces some minor league flamethrower brought up earlier in the day just to test his stuff against "one batter" - and we all know who that is.

Hey - they don't call me Stevil for nothing! ;-)

The tradition is to retaliate, but I think the smart thing was to let it go. The Yankers are in a fog - why wake them up by clearing the benches? Let them keep playing like zombies. File it away, then when and if your team needs a buzz, then you drill one of them.

If you're complaining about Joba Chamberlain's control, why don't you think back to Pedro Martinez's control. He barely walked anyone, but would plunk people all the time. It's called major league pitching.

Yeah, but Pedro did his job properly. I still remember the series against Cleveland where everyone was getting buzzed up around the head, then in retaliation Pedro went out and hit Roberto Alomar.

In the ass. Alomar looked pretty goddamned stupid getting pissed off and charging the mound over that. Pedro could have taken his head off.
