Cute kids, marching bands and giant animals on parade in Roslindale
Hurry, or we'll fall behind!
Photos from today's Roslindale Day parade (if you were there and posted photos, add the link in a comment).
Good form:
Cinderella knows how to dress for a parade - with sneakers under her gown:
What would a Boston parade be without bagpipers and marching bands?
Junior-miss belly dancers (no, really):
Human museum wall:
See, Kevin James didn't kill all the giraffes at the zoo:
Without doubt, the most maudlin part of the whole parade was the Gormley hearse (followed closely by the Dapper O'Neil memorial limo, accompanied by an old white guy who handed out O'Neil-for-council stickers to all the old white folks along the route):
That's some car:
Remember kids: Always eat your corn!
This is the end, my friends:

I hear ...
I heard a rumor that Roslindale was Boston's hotest up-and-coming neighborhood - and all these stories suggest it's true.
Go, Rozzie!
My two year old was most
My two year old was most excited by the streetsweeper at the end. And a good time was had by all.
The official Universal Hub corner at the parade
This is cool and a bit freaky:
When we got to our usual spot, at Belgrade and Walworth, a guy asked me if I was Adam Gaffin, and when I allowed as I was, he introduced himself as MadMax (very nice to meet you!).
Now Laura Scannell has posted nice parade photos, which I know because she tagged them for the Universal Hub pool on Flickr. Based on the buildings on the other side of the street in the photos, we were standing maybe 10 feet apart from each other!
Worlds colliding
I feel compelled to admit that yes Laura was at that corner and is also our babysitter.
Isn't the height of land at that corner the logical perspective. Ignore that we all live within
a stone throw.
I was there too!
And I watched vigilantly within arms length of of Laura! (I probably should not speak out of turn but I wanted to mention that Laura pushes my buttons.)
The Parade will be televised
Today (October 4) at 3:00 p.m. on Channel 9.
