Bracing for the war on Christmas?

New commenting turned off as we begin the Great UHub Migration. Back later today.
Santa Clauses in a speedboat at the Back Bay Esplanade

Katia was on the Esplanade this evening when three Santas in a camo gun boat came roaring by. Nobody better mess with Santas in speedboats.

Materializing and capitalizing to make a profit on Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other day that was meant for reflections and honoring, is absolutely despicable, disrespectful, disgusting and unholy.

May GOD have mercy on all of us.

You realize most people celebrate those holidays purely in a secular fashion. As they should be.

Christmas is a Christian religious holiday, or holy day. Most people in the U.S. self identify as Christian. Same with Easter, another Christian high holy day.

This is coming from an Agnostic.

I think most people without an axe to grind for their own narrow view recognize that Christmas is both a religious (Jesus) AND a secular (Santa) holiday. Each person is free to pick what, if anything, Christmas means to them.

As long as they wait until after Thanksgiving for any of it. I encountered six bell ringers around Back Bay yesterday. Ho ho pass the hand grenades.

Thanksgiving is a secular holiday.

Only after Thanksgiving.

Perhaps they aren't promoting Christmas but defending it from being promoted too early?

And they thought they looked too ridiculous dressed up as turkeys.
