Rollins walks out the door

New commenting turned off as we begin the Great UHub Migration. Back later today.

The US Attorney's office in Boston reports that, as expected, Rachael Rollins resigned today as US Attorney for Massachusetts.

She's been replaced, at least for now, by First Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy:

Mr. Levy joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office with over 25 years of legal experience and has served as First Assistant United States Attorney since January 2022. Mr. Levy was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, from 1997 to 2004, serving in the Criminal Division’s Economic Crimes Unit. There, he prosecuted a wide range of white-collar crimes including health care fraud, securities and investor fraud, terrorism financing and environmental crimes.

Girl, bye

She is thinking about running against Diane Wilkerson in the next State Senate election. What entertainment that would be.

Wilkerson was a major supporter of Rollins in the 2018 DA race:

Quite the crew at this rally supporting Rollins after the election:

it blows my mind that she remains part of the conversation. i guess we see her constituents are willing to elect convicted criminals so why not rollins? rascal queens.

“declining to prosecute possession with intent to distribute when defendants are caught with certain amounts heroin or fentanyl”

If it's a small amount and the seller is a user themselves and is just financing their own addiction, sending them to jail isn't the best use of public money.

A lot of Rollins policies made sense even if she thought she was above the law herself.

If all you have is a small amount. That’s the important point in my quote.

I have no problem with prosecutor making decisions based on the circumstances and not quantitative measurements.

I'm not for legalizing all drugs but the current approach isn't working and it's not because they've been too easy on dealers.

But fentanyl is death. Anyone distributing fentanyl should be thrown away for murder.

A lot of her policies were just codifying what had been standard practice for prosecutors for years. She just dared to say it out loud.

Did she wait until today to get one last chauffered ride to the Garden?

with a big celtics playoff game to boot. this is a red sox move.

And walked into The Massachusetts' Politicians Hall of Shame.

a bigger hall.

are progressives or even close to Stalinists.

Nice try, though.
